Just two days ago, Chevy released a commercial celebrating the success of the 5th generation Camaro, and also heralding in the new Camaro with our first official peak at the car. Then, they announced the official reveal date and also confirmed that the Chevrolet bow-tie would be replaced with the classic three bar emblem (thank goodness). We now know when the new 6th generation 2016 Camaro will go on sale.
Sooner Than Originally Thought
According to sources close to Car and Driver, the car will hit the streets during the fourth quarter of this year. While this news isn’t shocking, some were speculating that the car wouldn’t be see until the spring. The reason for this thinking was because of the reveal timing of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in relation to when consumers were actually taking delivery. The rationale was that, for the Camaro, a five month later reveal would result in the production schedule for the car being pushed back 5 months overall. However, this will not be the case.
Ready For Some 2016 Camaro Hype?
The official reveal, hyped as THE CAMARO SIX PREMIERE, will take place on 5/16/2016 at the legendary Belle Isle Park.
Expect the 2016 Camaro to begin roaring to the streets in just six to eight short months. Then, the fun can begin when the inevitable, heated, and endless comparisons of the Camaro to the Mustang begin. I personally can’t wait. Camaro fans rejoice.
